This year’s Genocide commemoration theme is “Let us join efforts in fighting trauma”. On 21st to 22nd May, 2010 ;Rwanda Tea Authority organized a commemoration of its staff members who died in 1994 genocide. For the 16th commemoration at the national level, it was the 6th time at OCIR THE.The event took place in one of OCIR THE Factories called SHAGASHA located in RUSIZI District Western province.

To support the survivors of the genocide of Giheke sector in which the factory of Shagasha is located, OCIR THE gave 5 million to buy 20 cows and this good gesture was supported by Rwanda Mountain Tea company who, promised to buy other 10 cows.

The representatives of the National Commission of the Fight against the Genocide(CNLG), IBUKA and district leaders of Rusizi thanked OCIR THE for this gesture which would help the survivors to develop economically.
