Rwanda Mountain Tea has acquired the 60 percent government stake in Kitabi tea factory

Rwanda Mountain Tea, owners of the Rubaya and Nyabihu tea factories has acquired the 60 percent government stake in Kitabi tea factory it is said in the statement of cabinet decisions of 11/09/2009.

A delegation of OCIR THE Employees led by Anthony BUTERA the Director General and Mr. Alexis MATABARO the representative of Rwanda Development Board after having visited the plantation, the building of the factory and stores had a session of talks with officials of the factory and signing documents for submission with Rwanda Mountain Tea.

Privatisation of nine government-owned tea factories began in 2003 and has seen four factories procured: PFUNDA,RUBAYA,NYABIHU and KITABI. The remaining tea factories are Mulindi, Gisovu, Mata, Gisakura and Shagasha.
